Commercial activities in Ikare Akoko area of Ondo have been crippled by a protest by residents of the community over increasing cases of criminal activities .
The protesters blocked major road from Akungba to Ikare and other roads to press home their demand.
For several hours, they barricaded the road, causing traffic snarl.
They are demanding the removal or redeployment of the Area Commander in-charge Ikare-Akoko Area Command, an Assistant Commissioner of Police Razak Rauf for allegedly aiding criminals
They alleged that criminal activities in the community had been on the increase since the ACP was deployed to the area.
The protesters alleged that a suspected armed robber arrested by Vigilante escaped from the hospital bed despite the presence of a policeman guarding him
