The Police Service Commission has called on the public to ignore the recruitment list released by the Nigeria Police Force.
ROLL SSD: Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Henry Okechukwu stated this while addressing workers who shutdown the Commission’s Headquarters to protest what they describe as a hijack of the recruitment process by the Inspector General of the Police, Mohamad Adamu
Placard carrying workers led by union officials chanted solidarity songs demanding the immediate resignation of the Commission’s Chairman, Musiliu Smith for his inability to defend the mandate of the Commission.
It appears the rivalry between the Nigeria Police Force and the Police Service Commission has worsened.
As at the time of this report there was no official reaction from the Office of the Inspector General of Police.
He is alleged to have ordered the withdrawal of the police recruitment process from the Police Service Commission after which he released the list of candidates for medical screening and training.
