Tragedy has struck in Anaye village in Emure Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Sunday, as two labourers fell into a deep well and died .
The duo died in Anaye, a farmstead under Emure Ekiti while trying to retrieve a cell phone that fell in the well
The two labourers were said to have been hired by a yet-to-be identified man who has a farm in Anaye village.
One of the deceased is identified as Foluso Ajayi.
The other one is an Ebira man from Kogi State popularly referred to as Alhaji in Emure community,
THE NEWS TRACK learnt that one of the deceased had attempted to retrieve his cell phone which fell into the well while he was fetching some water to cook.
He was said to have fallen into the well and couldn’t retrieve his phone.
In the process of trying to save his colleague, the other labourer also fell into the well and died
Their lifeless bodies were brought out from the well by five Hausa men who were hired by the community
Meanwhile, policemen attached to the Emure divisional police station, have gone to retrieve the deceased’s bodies and commenced investigations into the incident.
