A student of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Bukola Odeyemi has allegedly stabbed her 22-year-old lover, John Iju, to death.

Bukola, a 300- level student stabbed her lover in Iworoko area of Ado- Ekiti in one of the private hostels being used by students off campus.

Bukola, a 20- year old student had a quarrel with his boyfriend over his inability to give her the N2,500 she requested for a hairdo.

This led to a heated argument before Bukola of the Department of Biology Education allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed John in the chest

A source told The News Track that the refusal of the boyfriend to meet her demand resulted in a heated argument, which angered the young woman, and both of them started fighting.

The source added, “During the fight, the deceased was said to have gained the upper hand and Odeyemi saw a sharp knife on the tray and picked it and stabbed him in the chest”.

Spokesman of the state police command,  Ikechukwu, confirmed the incident, saying  the suspect has been arrested.
