The chairman of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo chapter, Rafiu Ijawoye has faulted his alleged dismissal and that of his Secretary, Ade Arikawe by the management.

Ijawoye, at a news conference in Owo, described the management’s action as illegal, unconstitutional and absurd.
According to him, the management failed to follow due process before carrying the ignoble suspension.
He said, ” The action of the management is not only laughable but ridiculous. I wonder why such decision was taken without following due process.
“Their action is illegal and unconstitutional. This is nothing but a mere joke
The management had in a Circular issued on Tuesday announced the dismissal of the two unionists .
The two ASUP leaders were dismissed over gross misconduct
The leadership of ASUP had accused Principal officers and the Chairman of the governing Council, Mr Banji Alabi of corruption.
The union also accused the management of misappropriating the institution’s funds.
