Monday’s bloody clash between members of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) and the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ore, ,Odigbo local government area of Ondo state has left 12 persons seriously injured.
They are currently receiving treatment at different hospitals across the state.
Members of RTEAN in Ore have therefore urged the state government and security agencies to wade into the crisis to prevent it from escalating.
The crisis, The News Track gathered was caused by a move by the two Unions to gain control of some motor parks in Ore.
RTEAN accused men of the Nigeria Police of conspiring with NURTW to attack its members at a motor park that was being operated by RTEAN members for over 10years in Ore.
RTEAN Chairman, Osogbo Motor Park Branch in Ore, Comrade Ahmed Animashaun, alleged “there is a conspiracy between police and NURTW people.
” We have been operating in a particular loading point for 10 years before the rival NURTW came to disrupt our operations on Monday.”, he said
