Residents of Akure, the capital city of Ondo state are groaning over total blackout being experienced in the last five days.

The blackout has paralysed socio- economic activities in the town

Virtually all areas in Akure have been thrown into darkness.

The areas affected are : Oba- Ile,Oda, Ijoka, Orita Obele, Ondo road, Ijapo, Sijuwade, Igbatoro among others.

Many now rely on generators to power their electrical appliances.

The News Track gathered that the blackout was caused by a fault from Oshogbo power station.

All efforts to speak with BEDC officials in the matter proved abortive
