A 36-year-old herbalist identified as Omotayo Omoakin has been killed by unknown assassins in Ifira Akoko in Akoko south east local government area of Ondo state.
The incident has thrown the ancient town into panic
A source who is a neighbour of the slain herbalist , revealed that the late OmoAkin was gunned down in front of his house after receiving a call.
Policemen from Isua Akoko led by the DPO, SP Olowoyo Akinbode confirmed the assassination.
They visited the scene of the incident and carried the corpse to a mortuary of the General hospital Ipe Akoko.
According to SP Olowoyo Akinbode, the case will be transferred to the state CID in Akure for further investigations.
Asiwaju of Ifira Akoko, chief Boboye ojomo described the incident as shocking and another period of mourning for the entire Ifira community.
He appealed to security agents to do thorough findings that will lead to the arrest of the assassins
