Why police have not arrested six FUTA students who molested and abused a fellow student
The Ondo state police command says it will only arrest six students of the Federal University of Technology,Akure (FUTA) who molested and abused a fellow student if the incident is reported at the police station.
The spokesperson of the command, Femi Joseph told The News Track in a telephone interview that the affected student must first report the case to the police before necessary action will be taken.
According to him, the students action is not only barbaric but highly inhuman.
Joseph said ‘The police can only arrest the students involved if the case is reported at the police station
“Once the case is reported, we will go after the students and arrest them with immediate alacrity”
Recall that FUTA management had placed six students of the institution on indefinite suspension.
Their suspension followed the result of a preliminary investigation carried out by the management.
The affected students are listed below 1. Popoola Olaniyi Agboola IDD/ (300L)
As a consequence of their suspension they are precluded from all academic and related activities indefinitely and barred from the University and its precincts forthwith.
At the conclusion of the ongoing investigations the full weight of the law of the University ,as contained in the handbooks and oath of Matriculation which all students are made to sign and subscribe to, will be visited on those found culpable.
