Ace reporter, Ayodeji Moradeyo of TVC News has won another award at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Dinner and Award Night in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
The award came four months after he won the Media Merit Award organised by the Impact Media group.
This time, Ayodeji, popularly known as Ayolomo, went home with the Best Investigative Reporter of the year Award for 2019.
The award was presented to him by the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ade Adetimehin.
Other journalists also received awards for distinguishing themselves during the year under review.
They are, Segun Giwa of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), who won the Best Sports Reporter of the year (Print), Sunmola Olowokere, who picked the Best Judicial Reporter of the year (Print) and Timilehin Ogunsulire, who emerged as the Best Photojournalist of the year.
Also, Charles Fatoki of the State Ministry of Information, won the Best Cameraman of the year, Oluseye Iyiade picked the Best Crime Reporter award in Print category and Maria Famakinwa, who is the Best Investigative Reporter of the year (Print).
Other award winners are Omolayo Monehin, who won the NUJ Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Member, Tola Gbadamosi as the Best Grassroots Reporter (Print), Adewale Momoh as the Best Political Reporter (Print) and Adewumi Adekunle, who went home with the Best Grassroots Reporter in the broadcast category.
The event was attended by some State Commissioners, lawmakers, Permanent Secretaries, Labour leaders, top politicians, NUJ leadership from the South-West zone and traditional rulers.
Highpoints of the event included the unveiling of an album titled, “DARK HORSE”, comprising songs by a member of NUJ in the state, Kayode Animasaun, popularly known as JEJE.
