Two Catholic priests kidnapped along Benin/Owo Highway regain freedom

Two Catholic priests abducted last Friday by unknown gunmen along Benin/ Owo Highway have regained their freedom.

They  regained their freedom after spending five days in kidnappers’ den 

Their abductors had demanded a sum of N100 million as a ransom for their release.

The two priests, Rev. Fr. Joseph Nweke and Rev. Fr. Felix Efobi from Awka Catholic Diocese were said to have been kidnapped on Benin-Owo Highway on their way to  a wedding ceremony in Akure.

. Details of how and where they were released are still sketchy as at the time of this report

It  cannot be confirmed if ransom was paid to their abductors
