The immediate past Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko has called for more women empowerment noting that When women are empowered, the whole world is empowered.

According to Mimiko, “there is no tool for rapid development than  empowerement of women. No other policy is likely to raise economic productivity, lower infant and maternal mortality or improve nutrition and promote health.

“When women are fully involved, the benefits can be seen immediately. Families are healthier, they are better fed; their incomes, savings and investment go up and that was why my administration focused more on empowering women”.

The former Governor stated this when syndicated Press Crew members attached to him during his administration paid him a condolence visit in Ondo City, in Ondo West Local Government Area of the State.

The former Governor noted that her late mother was a woman endowed with the spirit of unity, stressing  that her life was colourfully signposted with indelible accomplishments in all spheres of life.

Speaking on behalf of the Journalists, a Senior Reporter with TVC, Mr.  Ayodeji Moradeyo said “Undoubtedly, Mrs Rukayat illuminated unmistakable warmth, tolerance and pure love to everybody; deployed her righteousness, inspiring counsels and influential clout towards the formidable unity and accelerated progress of her children and families.

” These qualities propelled us to come to sympathize with you over her death. The consolation is that she did not die in vain”
