Ondo LG poll: Gani Omaluka debunks rumour of stepping down as he flags off campaign

The former Caretaker Chairman of Owo  Local Government Area of  Ondo State and a leading aspirant in the forthcoming local government election,, Hon. Gani Duromola Omaluka has  begun his tour of wards  with a visit to the Local Government Party secretariat in Owo.


Welcoming the members of the campaign group was the local government chairman of the party, Chief Sydney Ogunleye.


 Ogunleye eulogized the immense contributions of the aspirant in the formation of the APC in Owo local government and  his performance in the 2012 governorship election when  Arakunrin Akeredolu was the candidate of the defunct ACN.


He promised to be fair to all aspirants and urged party members to remain calm as the party would field the an experienced person  for the chairmanship seat in the local government.


Addressing the local government executives of the All Progressives Congress, APC  at the party secretariat, Gani Omaluka  expressed joy in the reaction of the people towards his aspirations saying, the people have shown much support for his aspiration. 


His words: “Security, education, human capital development, rural and urban development, industrialisation, forms our agenda and those who know me can attest to the fact that I will not say that which I can not do.

“I have not come to campaign, I have come to inform you I am in the race and in it to win and I have not stepped down for any aspirant in the race.” .


Omlauka also eulogized the governor of the state for his unprecedented achievements and promised to compliment his efforts if elected as the next chairman of the local government and declared that Owo would be delivered for the second term of  the governor as this forms his priority .


Speaking also were members of the executives who applauded  the aspirant for his commitment and steadfastness in the progressive camp since 2004.


They called on the people to support him as a reward for loyalty and urged  Omlauka to remember the party members when elected.


The train also visited Isaipen and Ehin-Ogbe wards  on the same day where  the Chiarman of  Isaipen ward Hon. Layode praised the sincerity of purpose , commitment and loyalty to the party as expressed by the aspirant.


On the train were all executives of Ijebu 1ward 4 and ward chairmen  in Owo APC, Barrister Tubosun Agaun , Hon. O.J Lawal, representatives of women from  all the wards to mention a few.The tour continues today, Thursday 30th January, 2020.
