As part of precautionary measures against the spread of coronavirus otherwise known as covid-19, the Ekiti State House of Assembly has adjourned its plenary sittings indefinitely
The lawmakers’ decision followed a motion moved by the Leader of Government Business, Chief Gboyega Aribisogan during a plenary sitting in Ado Ekiti.
Aribisagan explained that it was important for the house to take every necessary measure against the spread of the killer virus especially now that a case has been confirmed in the state.
The house also agreed to restrict movement of visitors into the assembly complex and maintain a single entry and exit point.
Some members of the house threw their weights behind the decision saying all hands must be on deck at this critical time to end coronavirus.
The speaker of the house, Mr Funminiyi Afuye urged members to embark on massive awareness on the various precautionary steps against the spread of the virus in their respective constituencies as a way of ending the scourge.
