COVID-19:GOVERNOR AKEREDOLU APPEARS IN PUBLIC TO DISPEL SELF-ISOLATION RUMOUR…Orders Enforcement of market Closure.

Ondo state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has doused  rumour that he is on self isolation after allegedly having contact with some personalities who have already tested positive to the deadly COVID-19 disease.

The Governor put the rumour to rest when he jointly addressed Newsmen in company of  the state Commissioner for police,Undie Adie on the enforcement order of shutting down of shops,public Gatherings and market.


The Governor advised members of the public to embrace social distancing.


 Akeredolu urged the Ondo State Police Command to ensure that residents of the state complied with Government directive on the Covid-19 pandemic.

The State commissioner of Police, Undie Adie, said that it had been observed that shop owners with non-essential materials opened their doors, contrary to the directives of the state government. 

He further said the command was fully prepared to roll out its personnel day and night to ensure that social centers like night clubs and drinking bars did not operate.

“Only people selling essential items like food items, medicine and water should stay open. Even the sellers should ensure that crowds don’t gather.

“The citizens themselves are advised to always observe and make sure that any food vendor or pharmacy should not have more tha five people at once.
