A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Simeon Toluwani Borokini has called for calm among Christians in Nigeria especially those in Akure during this trying period of COVID-19 pandemic.
Borokini who is Representing Akure South Constituency 1 in the state parliament, explained that the ban on large gatherings which is one of the listed rapid efforts in combatting the widespread of the deadly coronavirus should not be seen as punishment.
The lawmaker in his Easter message, appreciated the cooperation enjoyed so far from his constituents by adhering to the Government’s laid down directives.
He further encouraged them for continuous calm and perseverance during this period of lockdown.
He also admonished that the lockdown experience does not undermine the importance of Easter celebration and it’s attending messages.
The lawmaker charged Christians to show love, commitment to worship and spiritual fervency.
Borokini called on every citizen to fervently assist with prayers for an immediate end to this pandemic.
The lawmaker had provided palliative items to cushion the effect of the lockdown on his constituents.
