Breaking: Suspected COVID- 19 patient who escaped from Ondo teaching hospital returns

The suspected COVID- 19 patient, who escaped from the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Ondo, has returned to the hospital.

The Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Oluwole Ige disclosed this while addressing reporters in Ondo town.

He said the patient has shown symptoms of the disease, stressing that his report is still being expected.

His words, “I can tell you that the patient has returned to the hospital. We are on top of the situation. He is still a suspected case.

“We are waiting for the result of the test conducted for him and two others.”

The suspected patient absconded from the Hospital Complex in ondo town on Saturday.

His disappearance led to unnecessary panicking in the town as the people now live in fear

The patient, it was gathered, was admitted at the Accident and Emergency unit of the facility.

In two days, the cases of COVID- 19 in Ondo state has risen from three to seven.

One of the cases was brought in through a policeman from Lagos last week

Three more suspects were recorded on Sunday morning out of which one of them is one of the four suspects standing trial for the murder of Olufunke Olakunrin, daughter of Afenifere leader, Reuben Fasoranti
