Over 50 residents of Ilutitun-Osooro, an agrarian community in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo state have been rendered homeless by heavy downoour.
Property worth millions of naira were destroyed by the rains.
Residents of the community have therefore sent a Save Our Soul (S.O.S) message to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu over the flood ravaging the community.
The affected areas include houses along Union Bank Road, Akinyemi and Agidi streets, extending to Seba Olawole Street along Ilutitun-Osooro Broad Street.
A victim, Mrs Idebi A, said incessant rains occasioned by flood have rendered many homeless.
She urged Governor Akeredolu to help them because of the untold hardship they are experiencing .
The chairman of Okitipipa Local government, Omoba Abayomi Adesanya, assured the residents of government’s support.
He enjoined the people to always clear drainages in front of their homes, to ensure free water passage, appealing to Governor Akeredolu to assist the local government in combating flood.
