Plot to impeach Ondo Deputy Governor thickens, as PDP aspirants jittery over Agboola’s move

Plot to impeach Ondo state Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi is thickening everyday as lawmakers are making surreptitious moves towards making it a reality.

The lawmakers, it was gathered, have held series of meetings to perfect their moves.

A source explained that those in power were bittered about recent development and have instructed the lawmakers to remove him at all cost.

The Deputy Governor, according to the source is seen as a betrayal who should not be allowed to remain.

The lawmakers, though have not got enough number to impeach Agboola Ajayi, but are making frantic efforts to woo more lawmakers to his side.

The source added that the lawmakers might likely suspend some lawmakers loyal to him to pave the way for his impeachment.

But another source said 19 lawmakers had already signed impeachment notice against the Deputy Governor since Wednesday.

He said all things being equal, the Deputy Governor would be removed this week.

The Deputy Governor had on Friday submitted his nomination and expression of interest forms at the PDP headquarters.

He resigned his membership of the APC last Sunday and was officially received by the national chairman of the party. Uches Secondus on Monday.

His defection into PDP has thrown many aspirants into confusion as he is reaching out to the delegates.

It was learnt that if the PDP aspirants fail to work together, Ajayi might win the party’s primaries.

A source within the party said the national Secretariat is rooting for him to pick the ticket.

He added that a governor in the southwest is working assiduously to ensure that Agboola Ajayi wins the ticket.
