The Ondo state Governorship Election screening Committee of the peoples Democratic party, PDP has confirmed that two Aspirants in the Race may not participate in the July 22 Party Primaries.
Speaking with Newsmen at the end of the screening exercise on Friday, Chairman of the committee and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, said though those screened out were at liberty to approach the Appeals Committee on Monday, to seek redress, he is not happy to report that two failed the litmus test.
Dogara said the two Aspirant who failed the screening, are yet to be disqualified, as the committee lacks powers to disqualify anybody.
He however declined to mention the names of the affected Aspirants.
Meanwhile there are yet to be confirmed reports that the committee advised the Ondo Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi to consider resigning his position as Deputy Governor if he emerges as candidate of the party after the July 22 primaries.
Aspirants who participated in the screening exercise are; the deputy Governor of Ondo state, Agboola Ajayi, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede, Dr Eddy Olafeso, Barr. Sola Ebiseni and Senator Boluwaji Kunlere .
Others are Banji Okunomo, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye and Bode Ayorinde.
