Bola Ilori survives road accident, thanks Akeredolu, Aregbesola, others for their care and concern

Former commissioner for regional Integration in Osun State, Hon. Bola Ilori has commended Nigerians for their care, love and prayer for him when he had an accident at Idoani on the boundary between Ondo and Kogi States.

He said he is alive contrary to the news making the rounds that he died in the hospital after the fatal accident.

He specifically described Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, as a politician who doesn’t play politics of bitterness.

Ilori who was the Director – General of Olusola Oke Campaign Organisation in the 2016 governorship election, said Akeredolu has earned his respect with the manner the governor cared for him during the road accident at Idoani Road while retuning to Abuja.

Ilori also expressed gratitude to the Minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for the exceeding care and concern.

He also thanked the Commandant General of Civil Defence Corps in Nigeria Mr Abdullahi Gana Mohammadu who was exemplary in attending to the situation from the hospital at Idoani to him physically overseeing.

Ilori who attended the funeral of late Chief Adewale Omojuwa last week  survived a ghastly  on his way to Abuja.

In an appreciative message posted on his personal Facebook page, Ilori thanked Governor Akeredolu for his care during the accident.

He said, “My official trip in the last week of June 2020 as representation at the funeral of late Chief Adewale Omojuwa turned out to be a memorable one. I was in Akure but the event was postponed because of the death of the immediate younger brother of the deceased on the week of the burial – making it a double for the family.

” On my way back to Abuja precisely at Idoani on the boundary between ONDO and KOGI was where a fully loaded Dangote Truck lost his brake and horn on a slope and ran into our Hilux from behind. I blanked out immediately only to regain consciousness later at the hospital. Everyone in the truck sustained varying degrees of injury.
“I need not say much about the extent of the accident but continually appreciate the extent of the mercy of God, I only need to say thank you Jesus for the gift of life. It can only be God that brought us back from the valley of shadow of death.

” I wish to use this medium to express my appreciation to the villagers on the outskirts of Idoani who rallied round to tear out the car and rescued us to Idoani General Hospital (which was on strike but had only one doctor who attend to our emergency).

“I thank the Honorable Minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for the exceeding care and concern, I lack words to fully express appreciation for love and affection shown.

” I must express my appreciation for the personal visit and material support of the Comptroller General of Immigrantion Service in Nigeria – Muhammed Babandede. So also Comptroller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service – Jafaru Ahmed and the Head of Federal Fire Service in Nigeria – Comptroller General Liman A. Ibrahim. Major General  Emmanuel Etim Bassey. Mallam Alhassan Yakmut  and Commissioner  Ado Abdullahi Ja’afar.

“The entire team of Interior Ministry from the Permanent Secretary, the Directors, Alhaji Baba Alli, Dr Babasola, Engr Mrs Olajide, Adaba, Sola Fasure, Dr Jebe Hassan-Olajoku, Saba, Mrs Adeniran, Fatima, Bayo, Ohiolebo Abiodun all Technical Assistants, Uju Ibegbulem, Cecils Garba, Olushi, Danladi and all who called and visited, I say thank you all.

” I must create a special space to express my profound appreciation to the Governor of Ondo State Arákùnrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi for his care during the incident. The fact that I and the Governor of Ondo state were not the best of friends is a national knowledge, however it is times like this that you differentiate between opponents and enemies. The Governor demonstrated that we were opponents not enemies. I salute you sir and I must say yes, Your Excellency, you earned my respect going forward”.
