Exclusive: Ondo 2020: Oke, Oyedele, Adelami others call for dissolution of APC Excos….. they are enemies of the Excos – Party source

Eleven Governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are currently pressurising the National Executive Council (NEC) of the APC to dissolve the Executive Councils of the party in Ondo State ahead of the July 20 governorship primary in the state.

An impeccable source within the APC in the state said the governorship aspirants led by Olusola Oke, Ife Oyedele, Olayide Adelami and others are currently pursuing the dissolution of party Excos from the state to ward level.

The move, according to a source, became imperative after their failure to reverse the indirect mode of primary which the party has settled on for the conduct of the governorship primary election in the state.

The source revealed that the aspirants had written a protest letter to Abuja which was submitted by Olusola Oke but was met with brick walls as the party has exceeded the 21 days window for the notification of INEC on the mode of party primary to be adopted.

Olusola Oke, SAN, during the submission of his nomination form in Abuja had requested that the Ondo State chapter of the APC be disproved alleging lopsidedness.

APC Caretaker Chairman speaking through the Party’s Organizing Secretary, Prof Attahiru said the committee lacks the power to dissolve State Executive by virtues of Party’s Constitution, noting their core mandate is to conduct National Convention.

“These eleven aspirants met a brick wall in Abuja. They were disappointed. They were told that the party had already communicated the decision to use indirect primary for Ondo since the reign of Adams Oshiomole as the party national chairman

“They are now pursuing the dissolution of party Excos from the state to the ward level… Is it not funny that these people are afraid to talk to delegates? They claimed these delegates are being neglected by Akeredolu. They alleged that the Governor did not take care of the party members and structure, yet, they are afraid to use these same party structure

“I think the party Excos should by now understand that these people do not like them. Usually, this is a harvest time for party Excos but these people will not allow them. I believe they will also be disappointed on this one too as the Buni led caretaker committee is not giving them any consideration at all. Especially with the closeness of the date of the party primary

“These delegates should better know their friends and enemies right now. They should be ready for these eleven aspirants who are bent on sacking them from their positions. I am very sure that they are still coming back to the delegates.” the source added.

It was learnt that four of them were also in Lagos on Saturday to convince the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the dissolution of the party Excos.

The four aspirants, however, left with disappointment having failed to see Tinubu after making numerous attempts
