All set for Ondo Deputy Governor’s defection to ZLP

Except for any last minute change, arrangements have been concluded for the defection of Ondo state Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP to the Zenith Labour Party.

It is now confirmed that Mr. Ajayi is on his way out of the PDP to contest the October 10 Governorship election on the platform of the ZLP.

Ajayi had only in June 21 dumped the APC for PDP where he contested the party’s primary and lost to Eyitayo Jegede.

What started like a rumour is now a reality as Mr. Ajayi will dump the PDP this week.
Already, Faze caps and T-shirts with the inscription of ZLP have been produced in large numbers.

This has finally put to rest days of speculations of his impending move.
Some of the Supporters and leaders loyal to Ajayi on Sunday gathered in Okitipupa to form what they described as “third force”to challenge the two major political parties, The APC and PDP in the October Governorship election.

They said the position of Deputy Governor offered to the district by Governor Akeredolu is not acceptable to them.

They agreed that it is time for the south senatorial district to govern Ondo state, hence they would not settle for anything less.

Mr. Ajayi is expected to officially declare to run for the October Governorship election under the ZLP this week.
