Reactions are trailing the planned decision of the Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi to contest the October 10 Governorship election on the platform of the Zenith Labour Party.
While some want the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party to prevail on him, some said Mr. Ajayi is embarking on a journey of political extinction.
Many of the people who reacted on different WhatsApp groups described Mr. Ajayi’s latest move as an act of desperation which will consume him politically
One of the respondents who did not want is name mentioned said, “It’s a dead journey. Ondo will either choose PDP or APC, even the man in ZLP contested for senate and lost.
” He cannot win anything in ZLP because the people in the southern senatorial district are always PDP as I presumed
” He thought he is popular because of the figure he got at the PDP primary which is the result delegates he bought”
Another respondent, Mr. Doyin Alao, a financial expert said the Deputy Governor is confused.
He added, “Ondo State Deputy Governor is a confused politician .Aketi will have smooth ride with what I am seeing. Because APC have been able to manage their in fighting
” For the first time, the primary election of APC came without much rancour and the post primary realignment came without the usual ‘stone throwing’. That is to say their internal cohesion is working. Maturity seems to be coming into APC in Ondo State”
Another respondent identified as Sampraize SUG urged PDP leaders to dialogue with the Deputy Governor.
He said, “Let them offer Agbo anything else for him not to feel neglected. Deep down Eyitayo himself won’t pray Agbo defects he knows he is an asset
“We can’t afford to loose him, We need him even as a leader in the party and a force that moves with thousands of people
“Trust me he can’t defect alone, he will defect with people yet at this injurious time for PDP”
For a former member of the Ondo State House of assembly, Siji Akindiose, the Deputy Governor should not be castigated for his latest move.
His words, ,”Please do not castigate because everyone has the right to associate. No permanent friend nor enemy in politics.
” All we want is peace so that our votes can count. Every politician has his own calculations just as GOD has the final say. For me , i would have loved the Deputy Governor stays. Destiny is a POWERFUL force off & of COURSE”.
