… Pledges support for party
A vice- chairmanship candidate in Tuesday’s congress of the Peoples Democratic Party, Benson Enikuomehin has accepted defeat in good faith.
Enikuomehin in a statement issued by him, said despite the glaring, noticeable imperfections that manifested during the voting, he has decided to accept the outcome of the election, bearing in mind that it is only God that enthrones a man.
While thanking his supporters for their unflinching support, the Ilaje born politician, said he has decided to forge ahead
He advised his colleagues who “lost” in the Congress to remain calm and work for the success of the party in the forthcoming Governorship election.
He also urged the winners to do their best to manage their victories.
The statement reads,”I have decided to forge ahead and I appeal to all of you to remain calm and wish the winners well.
“You are bound to witness some embarrassments from some of the overzealous supporters of some of the winners, I SINCERELY APPEAL to you to bear those insults calmly and with equanimity.
“When a formidable character (like me) loses an election, the expectation of the public is that he should react VIOLENTLY.
My Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ did not teach me so. The Holy scripture says in 1st Thessalonians 5: 18 that in everything I should give thanks.
This is the reason I am thanking all of you for your love, support, good wishes, prayers and encouragement during this period.
“I counsel my colleagues who “lost” in the Congress to remain calm and work ( if they are sincerely invited) for the party.
“For the winners, please feel free to rejoice (albeit minimally), realising that greater tasks lie ahead, for which all hands MUST be on deck.
Only very few people know how to manage success. Let the winners do their BEST to manage their victories”
