An Akure High Court has unfrozen the bank accounts of founder of the Sotitobire Praising Chapel church prophet, Alfa Babatunde.
This followed an application that was moved by his lawyer, Olusola Oke.
Alfa Babatunde and six members of the church are standing trial over the disappearance of a year old boy, Gold Kolawole in his church last year.
His accounts were freezed since the beginning of the suit filled against him.
The trial judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola, refused to grant his bail application and the six other defendants that were facing trial with him.
While delivering the ruling, the judge held that the bail applications were refused due to the fact that the grounds for their bail application were not in accordance with the law.
Thenewstrack recalled that the court had June 24, 2020, received an application for bail and thereafter fixed July 30 for the ruling on the bail application.
The application was brought by the lead Counsel to the prophet on health grounds.
The lawyer representing other defendants, Akinyemi Omoware, also moved similar application for the bail of the other church workers.
The prosecution counsel, led by Bola Ogundadegbe of the Ministry of Justice, however, opposed the applications before the court.
