Ondo lawmakers alleged assassination plot

Some lawmakers in the Ondo State House of Assembly have raised the alarm over the alleged plot to kill them.

The lawmakers were suspended for misconduct but an Akure High Court reversed their suspension and ordered the Assembly to pay three of them the sum of N15m.

On Monday, suspected thugs invaded the Assembly but Speaker Bamidele Oleyelogun, said they were members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers who were at the Assembly for a meeting.

According to him, “Idajo and his members from the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW came to the house to kill us on the order of the governor and the speaker. They said we should not enter the house to perform our constitutional legislative duties.

“Right now, we are helpless because they are using government power against us. We are only relying on God to come to our aide.”.
