A political group ‘Coalition 2020′ says it has adopted the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, and candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, Hon. Agboola Ajayi as it’s preferred candidate ahead of the Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State.
In a communique issued and signed by it’s Chairman, Hon. Bamiduro Dada, said “the authentic members, Leaders and Board of Trustees of Coalition 2020 with Leadership of 18 Political Parties in their meeting held on October 7, 2020 at ijapo Estate, Akure reviewed the political antecedents of all the Gubernatorial candidates in the forthcoming gubernatorial Election in Ondo State vis a vis Public acceptability of each candidate, Political experiences of each candidate, Party manifestoes of each candidate/political party, Sincerity of purpose of each candidates and likely chances of winning of each candidates”.
According to the group, “having exhaustively deliberated on the aforementioned factors and analyzing their Political Parties, the Authentic Coalition 2020 and Leadership of the 18 Political Parties which are members of Coalition 2020 unanimously adopts and endorse the candidacy of HE Agboola Ajayi Alfred, Candidate of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in the October 10, 2020 Governorship in Ondo State based on the following reasons.
“Agboola Ajayi Alfred is the most experienced candidate among all the gubernatorial candidates in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ondo State, Alfred is a man of integrity that has no blemish nor stains while in office.
“That during his time as a member of the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly (MHR) representing the good people of Ilaje/Ese Odo Federal constituency, he used his position as the chairman, House committee on NDDC to facilitate many developmental projects to both his immediate Constituency, Ondo South Senatorial District and Ondo State in general”.
They noted that ” Agboola is a man with the fear of God having served as Deputy governor to the incubent meritoriously It is on the basis of the foregoing that we the Authentic Coalition 2020 and leadership of the 18 Political Parties hereby adopt and endorse the candidacy of H E Agboola Ajayi Alfred of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) as the our Candidate in the Saturday October 10, 2020 Ondo State Governorship Election.
“We therefore call on all our teeming supporters accros the length and breadth of Ondo state to dissociate themselves from the individualist adoption of Arakunrin by Akinbobola having failed the test of time and having been done solely for the purpose of extorting money from the incubent governor because it is self contradictory that a body set up to join the good people of Ondo state to free themselves from the tight grip of the incubent governor will now act contrary to the aims and objectives of setting it up.
“We implore members of Coalition 2020 and members of the undersigned Political Parties in Ondo State to support, convass and vote for H E Agboola Ajayi Alfred, the Candidate of Zenith Labour party (ZLP) come Saturday, October 10, 2020 as the Governor of Ondo State”.
