ZLP raises alarm over plan by APC to manipulate Police to rig Saturday election
The Zenith Labour Party in Ondo State has drawn the attentionof President Muhammed Buhari, INEC chairman, Professor Mahmud Yakubu, Inspector General of Police and the Nigeria Army to an ongoing gang-up to manipulate October 10 governorship poll in Ondo State.
The party noted that a scheme has been drawn up to corrupt the good intention and instruction of Mr President aimed at conducting peaceful, transparent and credible poll come this Saturday.under this criminal desire.
A statement issued by ZLP Publicity Secretary, Felix Olatunde noted that out of the three AIG deployed to Ondo State for the purposes of the election on Saturday, two will resume officially for the assignment while two AIG not assigned for election duties have arrived Ondo State without being officially deployed for the election exercises.
The statement added, “Out of 30,000 men and officer of the Nigeria Police Force deployed to Ondo State for the Saturday poll 15,000 will be placed under the command of the 2 AIG imported to the State without lawful deployment, while the other half will be placed under the lawfully deployed AIG.
“The duty of the illegally deployed AIG and the 15,000 men under them are to provide coverage for APC thugs to operate freely in harassing, intimidating, supervising vote buying and arresting agents of other political parties who refuse to carry out the instruction of APC thugs at polling units.
“They will also embark on mass arrest of leaders of opposition, political leaders, most especially PDP and ZLP leaders. “A situation room is being set up inside Ekiti State Guest House at Alagbaka, Akure by Governor Kayode Fayemi where INEC’s Server will be hacked into and results will be diverted into the server before being originally sent to INEC Server.
“Undisclosed and large quantity of money is being moved from Government House Ground Akure into this Guest House for distribution and for vote buying on Saturday”
The party called for the intervention of President Muhammed Buhari to intervene in the interest of the good legacy of credible election he promised to bestow on our nation. .
