Robbers raid hotel close to Govt House

Robbers have again  struck  in the Government Reserved Area of Benin, Edo State and robbed a hotel.

The hotel is less than 500 metres away from the Edo State Government House.

The men of the underworld dispossessed 13 lodgers and workers of the hotel of their belongings..

The manager of the hotel was injured by the robbers and is currently receiving treatment in a private hospital.

The hotel also shares a fence with the residence of some personnel of the 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army.

Residents of the state have been left at the mercy of robbers after the #EndSARS protests, which led to two jailbreaks with over 1,800 inmates still at large.

Men of the state police command have continued to shun the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu asking them to return to their duty posts.

According to one of the victims of the robbery incident, the robbers have a field day as they moved from one room to another, tied their victims and stole valuables, food and drinks.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, said police personnel would soon be back on the streets.
