More facts have emerged as to why commercial motorcyclists popularly known as Okada riders are not obeying Ondo state government’s directive which instructed them to stay off the roads by 6pm.
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu had on Friday restricted movement of Okada riders from 6.am to 6pm daily.
The step was taken due to the rising cases of criminal activities in the state.
But the Okada riders have refused to obey this directive.
They still ride round the town beyond 9pm or late in the night as usual.
Investigations carried out by thenewstrack showed that men of the Nigerian police force have not fully returned to their duty posts.
Many officers are being skeptical to return to work despite directive from the Inspector General of Police, IGP Adamu Muhammed
The policemen who are expected to enforce the order are not on duty.
This gave the Okada riders opportunity to flout the directive with impunity.
