Non-teaching staff of Ondo state universities are warming up for a to a 14- day warning strike over unpaid salaries.
The aggrieved workers are expected to downtool from Monday 14th December, 2020.
The workers under the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Ondo state owned tertiary institutions, said the strike became imperative because the state government has refused to honour the union’s agitations.
One of their grievances is the delay in the release of monthly subvention to the institutions which has caused delay in payment of salary and hardship to their workers
A statement issued by Comrade Aguda Temitope AAUA NASU, urged all members to comply as directed by JAC.
“The strike is going to be total and no any form of concession shall be entertained or granted during the strike.
Also to be noted is that sitting in the office for any reason shall not be allowed except the security Unit staff and other essential services.
“It is time for us to end hardship in Ondo State Owned Tertiary institutions particularly Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) .
“It is important to note that this is a struggle for all, and we must not turn to beggars before we end this unpleasant situation.
Let’s cry out together now!,” the statement read.
