Campaign for Democracy CD ,and Conference of Nigerian Civil Rights Activists CNCRA have asked President Muhammudu Buhari to sack Garba Shehu over his unguided utterances .
The two groups
described the reaction of the presidency to the orders given to the unregistered herders to quit Ondo State forests, stop grazing on major roads and under-age grazing as highly offensive and provocative.
They said the statement issued by Mr. Shehu has portrayed Mr. President as a biased and sectional leader.
Pastor Ifeanyi Odili, National General Secretary of Campaign for Democracy CD and Convener of CNCRA in a statement made available to thenewstrack.com, said the reaction is a clear indication that the presidency is seriously giving tacit support to the the herders
The statement added , “While we agree that all the kidnappers were not Fulani cattle herders, we put it that all the heinous crimes against humanity in the country is being carried out under the guise of herding. Many are using the young herders to perpetrate their evil act.
‘It was an eye saw to see Fulani cattle herders flocking their herds along major streets in the state capital, particularly along Oba Adesida road and Alagbaka banks’s area, where the people are not exposed to such life.
“It portends danger that at this critical time of insecurity in Nigeria, Fulani herders could be leading their herds along major high ways at about 1 and 3am ( this one of us was a victim). This shows that the Fulani are unguarded, irresponsible and up to something likely to cause problem in the country.
“For any Fulani to live and work in any state, they would have conformed to the culture and tradition of their host community doing otherwise is a direct invitation to chaos and it will continue to threaten our corporate existence.
“It has become irritating for Garba Shehu to always defend illegality and madness. People like Garba Shehu should not occupy any political appointment because of his unguided and senseless utterances .
“It is high time the president sacked him because he lacks human feelings and he is highly biased”
