Nigerians have continued to condemn the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu following his order for the arrest of the Southwest activist, Sunday Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho.
The social media was flooded with reactions as they expressed displeasure at what they called Adamu’s bias against certain parts of the country in the discharge of his official duties.
Pastor Ifeanyi Odili, National General Secretary of Campaign for Democracy CD and Convener of CNCRA said the IGP has demonstrated that he is sectional police boss.
According to him, the police chief is biased and defending a particular tribe in the country.
““The retiring Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu should also arrest one Bello Badejo, the national president of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, who says nobody can chase herdsmen away from the forest reserves in Ondo State.
“As we know, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), the governor of Ondo, ordered herders to vacate the forest reserves over rising insecurity in the state.
“As governor, he is exercising a lawful authority, but Bello Badejo has threatened fire and brimstone but President Muhammadu Buhari, who controls the police and all other security forces, has seen nothing untoward and unlawful with the violent tendencies of Bello Badejo, just because he is the kinsman of President Muhammadu Buhari.”
A lawyer, Dr Adedoyin Adebowale described Adamu as the worst IG since the nation’s history.
Odebowale who is the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on special duties, ” This IG is the worst since independence. He has not invited the Seriki Fulani, the middleman for kidnappers. Disgusting & stupid!”
