“Buhari is undermining Nigeria’s unity with one sided sympathy for Fulani herdsmen”
A consultant Physician at Ahmadu Bello University, Dr Nura Alkali says it is wrong for people to see a group of riff-raffs called Miyetti Allah as Fulani leaders.
He said the problems of herdsmen destroying other people’s farmlands, crops and the crimes committed in raping, kidnapping, robbing and killing can only be solved by the Federal Government.
According to him, the federal government should allow the Nigerian Police to enforce Open Grazing Prohibition Laws passed by affected states and assist the northern states to build Rugas for herdsmen and encourage them to ranch their cattle in the Rugas.
According to him, the federal government is undermining the unity of the country with a one sided sympathy for the Fulani herdsmen.
He said, “How ironic that, today, it is the Fulani who lack leaders to guide them and pursue their interests through legal ways. Please, do’n’t mention “Miyetti Allah”, which is a cattle-breeders’ association.
” I have never owned a cow in my life, and I don’t intend to, meaning I have no business with Miyetti Allah. (“Mi Yetti Allah” means “I thank God” in Fulfulde. I’m referring to the group here, not the literal meaning)
“Miyetti Allah claims to represent the Cattle Fulani who live as nomads. That is their opinion. In my opinion, it is the blind leading the blind”
