Akinbobola bows to pressure, joins Ondo FA race

Former Chairman, Ondo State Football Agency  (ODSFA) Otunba Akinsola Akinbobola has bowed 
to pressure within and outside the state to come and rescue the dwidling fortune of football activities in Ondo state.


Akinbobola, a seasoned sports administrator, thenewstrack gathered has finally succumbed to the pressure and has signified he will join the race on a rescue mission.

Different groups of stakeholders across  board  mounted immense pressure on the former ODSFA boss to join the race for the Chairmanship position of the Ondo State Football Association (F.A).


“The uneasy and unhealthy calm in the state F.A has really drawn the state back in many ways, it has denied us, the stakeholders of many good things from the federal level, in fact it’s affecting our teams, Sunshine Stars and Sunshine Queens  to the extent that we battled relegation for two football seasons.


“We want you to come and rescue the situation with your wealth of experience and exposure in the game,” they appealed.
Akinbobola in a release made available to journalists by his Media aide, Kayode Samuel said after wide consultation with critical stakeholders in the football industry, both in the state and at the national level he has finally heeded  stakeholders calling to contest for the State F.A position. 


He said; “in our collective interest to rescue the dying football fortunes in Ondo State and the, massive support of the Stakeholders I have decided to contest for the F.A Chairmanship position with a mind set to rescue the present sinking football ship in quote”.
