Ijare APC backs election of house leader, accuses external forces of causing disunity
The All Progresives Congress (APC), Ijare Zone, in Ifedore Local Government area of Ondo State has accused some external forces of deliberate plan to polarise the party and create unnecessary division.
The Ijare Zone of the APC also agreed that any decision taken without recourse to the leadership of the zone is ultra vires and of no effect.
These were part of the resolutions reached at the end of a stakeholders’s meeting of APC Ijare Zone held at the weekend.
According to a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the APC leaders backed the decision of the Ifedore Local Government legislators in electing the Leader of the House from Ilara Zone
This, they noted, was done in good fate since the Chairman of the local government is from Ijare Zone while Vice-Chairman is from Igbara-Oke Zone.
According to the leaders, the zoning of the the Leader of the legislative to Ilara Zone was done with the principle of equity and fair play.
The communique signed by the Maj-Gen Bayo Omesebi (retd) and other leaders reads, “Since the APC Ijare Zone is a formidable entity in Ifedore Local Government Area and Ondo State, under no condition should anybody or group of persons be allowed to impersonate the party in the zone.
“The APC Ijare Zone supports the decision of the Ifedore Local Government legislators in electing the Leader of the House from Ilara Zone, as the Chairman of the local government is from Ijare Zone; and the Vice-Chairman from Igbara-Oke Zone, automatically, the Leader of the House should come from Ilara Zone in consonance with the principle of equity and fair play.

The leaders also agreed that all political issues affecting the Zone must be discussed and approved by the leaders of the zone before implementation.
The APC Ijare Zone comprises Ward 1, Ward II and Ekamefa Ward.
The APC Ijare Zone also congratulated Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his Deputy, Lucky Ayedatiwa on their successful inauguration for the second term
