Some residents of Okitipupa ,the headquarters of Okitipupa local government of ondo state are now living in palpable fear following the invasion of scores of herders.
They were dumped by some trucks on Thursday evening.
The reason for their sudden arrive in the night has not been ascertained by many residents.
The herdsmen, our correspondent gathered, were dumped around the army barracks in Okitipupa but were not allowed in by the army authority.
This forced many residents to hurriedly close their business for the fear of any unforseen incident.
Chairman, Okitipupa local government , Mr Igbekele Akinrinwa alleged that it was a native of the town that facilitated the travellers trip to the town.
Akinrinwa said the man had been apprehended by the state’s security corps , Amotekun.
He however asked the people of Okitipupa local government to remain calm as the visitors would be moved to Akure the state’s capital for further security checks and investigation.
