Only ten media houses Nigeria were allowed to cover the Nnmadi Kanu’s trial at the federal high court in Abuja.
This is according to a letter obtained by thenewstrack.
The media houses are: The Nation, Premium Times, AIT, NTA, TVC, Channels, Thisday, Daily Independent, The Herald and NAN
Other media houses were not allowed to enter the court premises.
Covering Nnamdi Kanu’s trial has become extremely difficult.
Security operatives subjected many people to different forms of security checks at the federal high court Abuja, where the trial of the proscribed leader of IPOB is taking place.
Journalists have described the restriction of media coverage as another attempt by the federal government to stiffle freedom of information and gag the media.
