The General Manager of the Ondo State Sports Council (OSSC), Henry Babatunde says Ondo State Complex,Akure is ready to host Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Babatunde stated this in an interview with newsmen after inspecting level of work done,interms of repair at the stadium.
You may want to know that the Ondo State Sport Complex,Akure is the home of the Sunshine Stars FC of Akure before they were compel by the LMC to move Ijebu ode to prosecute their home matches.
Babatunde noted that the council, in collaboration with Sunshine Stars management,had been able to do some level of repair, as demanded and required by the League Management Company (LMC).
The general manager believed that the team could be returned to be playing games in Akure by the League Management Company in no distance time.
“Authoritatively, I can say that the stadium is now ready. We have been able to do a number of repair and I want to say that Sunshine Stars now can come back home if proper inspection is carried out.
“And let’s be hopeful that with what we have done, the stadium is in order and we can now be able to use if for the league,” The General Manager said.
It would be recalled that Sunshine Stars had been honouring its home matches at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State with the match day five against Kano Pillars where they won 3-0.
Recall that the Deputy Governor of Ondo State and Chairman of the Management Committee, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa had promised that all would be done to ensure the team returned home when members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Ondo state chapter paid him a courtesy visit in December 2021.
Sunshine Stars will play it’s week six encounter,in a Southwest derby, with neighbours, Shooting Stars FC at the Lekan Salami Stadium,Ibadan.
