Ondo State government has promised the continuos support for women involvement and participation in agriculture in the state.
The Ondo State Commissioner for Agriculture,Mr Olayato Aribo when members of the NACCIMA Business Women Group (NAWORG) in the state paid him a courtesy visit.
NACCIMA is the National Association of Commerce, Industry,Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
Aribo noted that it was important to engage women more in agriculture as it would encourage more youth participation in Agriculture.
He noted that more women had been trained as parts of efforts in various skills of agriculture and nutrition.
“Its is our plan to ensure more women participation and we promise to do that, we encourage that women should participate more, because we have identified that what you give to women,you help more than what you are giving to a man.
“I am not trying to flatter them (women), but the point there is we need to collaborate with them to ensure that
We engage our women and we also need them to also encourage our youth.
Aribo said the state government have enough plans to ensure women and youths developed more interest in Agriculture.
Earlier,the Coordinator of NAWORG in the State, Mrs Adefunmilola Williams-Daudu congratulated the commissioner on his appointment.
Williams-Daudu said the association had over the years developed business activities and opportunities to benefit members with the believe in green buildings.
She urged the commissioner to encourage more women participation in agriculture and Agricbusinesses.
She later said the association believe in green building being good for environment and also provides immediate and long term economic benefits.
