Promote Journalism Ethics, Ondo APC tasks new NUJ leadership

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has congratulated the new leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in the State.

It tasked the new executive members to promote professionalism.

The state chairman of APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, commended the succession process, saying it was rancor free.

According to a statement issued by the state publicity secretary of the party, Alex Kalejaye, the APC chairman described the new State NUJ boss, Comrade Adeleke Adegbite, as an active and experienced journalist, who has what it takes to run a peaceful chapter.

He challenged the leadership to explore every legal means to promote ethics of the journalistic profession, and stamp out the embarrassing issue of fake news.

He urged journalists to treat facts as sacred in the discharge of their duties of informing and educating the public.

The party is optimistic that the NUJ, under the leadership of Adegbite, and the State Secretariat of APC would enjoy a symbiotic working relationship.

“The party, under my watch, congratulates you, and assure you of our unfailing support”, Adetimehin emphasized.
