Four residents of Elegbeka community near Ifon in Ose Local Govt Area of Ondo state have been reportedly abducted by some suspected herdsmen .
The victims, three men and a woman believed to be farmers were on their ways to Akoko area of the state when they were allegedly kidnapped by the armed herdsmen on Saturday.
Multiple sources say the abductors later contacted the families of the victims demanding for four million naira each as ransome to free them.
Later on the same day, there was palpable fear and apprehension at Idogun in Irekari axis of the same local govt as local hunters engaged some armedin a gun battle inside a tick forest between Ondo/Kogi/Edo states.
It took the spirited efforts of the gallant local hunters mainly from Idogun who were later joined by their counterparts from Idoani, Ipesi and Ifira to repel the invaders from gaining entrance into Idogun.
One of the traditional rulers who spoke off camera said Owo massacre should be a wake up call for all the stakeholders to urgently find solutions to the problem of insecurity in Yoruba land as government alone cannot do it.
He said the issue of insecurity should now be a source of concern and business of all.
However, spokesperson of the state Police command, Funmilayo Odunlami has not confirmed the incident.
