Ogunwumiju Holds Maiden Edition Of OMO 7 Aside Football Competition In Ondo.

The House of Assembly Candidate for Ondo West Local Government area of Ondo State, Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju has reiterated his plans to using sport as a viable means for productive youth engagement in Ondo West Constituency 1.
He made this known during the 2022 maiden edition of the “Omo 7 Aside” football competition in Ondo West.
The football competition which was held at the Adeyemi University of Education Sports Complex, Ondo started on the 2nd of September 2022 featured several teams from the Constituency.
The participating teams were named after prominent public servants in the State such as Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, Hon Abiola Peter Makinde MHR, Mrs.Lola Fagbemi, Hon. Barr. Dr. Jibayo Adeyeye, Dr. Temitayo Fawehinmi, Hon. Onidare Sunday Bukunmi and a host of others.
Speaking with reporters after the grand finale of the week-long event which was laced with memorable and exciting moments which saw the participating team thrilled the audience, Ogunwumiju stated that the football tourney was inspired by the need to provide the youths with a platform to harness their sporting potentials.
According to him, the youths are integral members of the society hence there must be a conscious efforts geared towards investing in their progress.
He appreciated the people of the Constituency for their support which ensured a successful hosting of the football tourney.
The House of assembly hopeful also revealed that youth development across the grassroots remains imperative to him and he would continue to lead the advocacy to ensure that major stakeholders within the constituency and State at large key into the drive.
Dignitaries present at the grand finale include, Hon. Dr. Barr. Ajibayo Adeyeye, the Special Adviser on strategy, legislative and political matters to the Ondo State Governor, Honorable Omolola Fagbemi, the commisioner for trade, industry, and cooperative services; Honorable Wale Akinterinwa, commsioner for finance; Mr. Babajide Akeredolu, DG, state project monitoring and evaluation unit; Hon. Abiola Oladapo, Candidate of the APC, MHA, Ondo West Constituency 2, Hon. Onidare Sunday Bukunmi; representative of Hon. Mrs Cecilia Fayase, among several others.
