Flood ravages country home of CD General Secretary, renders thousands homeless

Umuoch – Utchi in Ndokwa East Local Government area of Delta state.

the country home of Pastor Ifeanyi, General Secretary of Campaign for Democracy CD has been affected by  flood occasioned by heavy rain.

It was gathered that the flood was also caused by the opening of Cameroonian dam.

Over 5000 people have displaced by the flood while properties worth millions of naira have been swept away.

Many have been rendered homeless as they begged for urgent government attention.

Pastor Odili who visited the community to assess the extent of damage, said,”Up till today, people are still hanging and sleeping on trees because there is no way of escape by those who cannot afford the fare for flying boat.

“It is therefore incumbent on the Government of Nigeria to create IDP’s for the people who were displaced by the flood across Nigeria”

 He condemned the federal government for playing politics with human lives apart from  corruption that has bedeviled the country.

The activist further lamented that if government fails to be proactive about issues bothering on climate change, more lives will be wasted.
