Ondo Varsity Students Charge Police To Fish Out Killers Of Colleague

The Ondo State Police Command is yet  to arrest a suspect in connection with the killing  of Temitayo Ayodeji, a student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, twenty – four hours after the incident.

Ayodeji  was allegedly stabbed to death on Thursday by suspected cultists, who were indigenous members of the community.

The family house of the prime suspect was razed, as students went on the rampage.

Spokesperson of the state police command,  Mrs Fumilayo Odunlami Omisanya, said no arrest had been made in connection with the incident.

She said efforts are ongoing to arrest the suspects.

It was gathered  that the deceased, who was a final-year student of the Physics Electronics Department of the university, was killed over N1,000.

He was said to have been stabbed to death at his off-campus residence in Ebenco, Akungba Akoko, in the Akoko South West Local Government Area of the state.

The source said, “He (deceased) was stabbed by the cultists after he refused to pay them the N1000 they demanded from him; he died on his way to a hospital.”

The President of the Students Union Government, Ogunsanmi Kolade, said efforts were going on to arrest the suspects.

Kolade said, “The perpetrators will be made to face justice.”
