Why I cannot return to Ooni’s palace- Olori Naomi

The former wife of the Ooni of Ife, Queen Silekunola Naomi Ogunwusi, may have ruled out the possibility of returning to the place of Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi.

Naomi who turned 30 recently in an interview with the Punch Newspaper, said she can never survive in the midst of six women .

She said, “Do I look like someone who can survive in the midst of six mature and strong women? No! She is but a soft, strong, gentle woman and I can’t be a square peg in a round hole”

Naomi had announced her separation from the Ooni of Ife through an Instagram post in December 2021. She had also renounced the title of a ‘Queen’, saying she tried to make the three-year union work but the Ooni’s public identity is at variance with “his true self”

She is the founder and president of Akure, Ondo State-based evangelical ministry—En-Heralds Interdenominational Ministry— and also the Convener of Women In Need of Guidance & Support (WINGS), an NGO.

She appears to have moved on with her life after the break-up with the highly revered monarch as she currently studies International Relations at Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State.

She was a former undergraduate student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko but had to drop out for the rigours of evangelism that took toll on her then.
