The Ondo State Football Association (FA) under the leadership of Otunba Dele Ajayi has congratulated Mr Segun Giwa and his executives on their emergence as the Chairman of Sports Writers Association Of Nigeria (SWAN) Ondo State Chapter.
The FA in a congratulatory message Signed by its Secretary, Ibukun Adetoyinbo and made available to newsmen said with the track record and experience of Mr Segun Giwa in Sports reportage , saying the state FA is confident that SWAN will live up beyond expectations in all ramifications not only in Ondo State but at the national level.
He said Giwa while working as Media Officer of FA displayed optimum professionalism as the Media officer of the Ondo State Football Association.
Aladetoyinbo said, FA is ready to cooperate with new Administration of Sports Writers Association in the state to take sports and football in particular to a greater heights.
Also Sunshine Queens Football Club of Akure have congratulated Members of Sports Writers Association Of Nigeria (SWAN) Ondo State chapter over the successful conduct of their election.
The Team Manager of the Club, Kehinde Odogun in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Akure ,the state capital said Sunshine Queens felicitate the new executive members of the association.
Odogun urges the Chairman of the association, Segun Giwa to roll up his sleeves and swing into action that will promote sports development in Ondo State.
He admonished the executive to see all the members of that association as his own, and ensure he unite all sundry for the smooth running of his administration.
In a related development,Former Chairman of Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) Otunba Akinsola Akinbobola in a congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Akure the State capital, urged the newly elected executives to make peace, unity and progress in the association a front burner issue.
He charged the Segun Giwa led executives to uphold the tenets of professionalism in their reporting.
The erstwhile Executive Secretary of the Western Nigeria Football Forum asked the new leadership of the organization to think out of the box and come up with brilliant ideas that will contribute robustly to the development and growth of sports in Ondo state in particular and Nigeria in general.
He said: “I urged the new executives to bring all the members to be on the same page for the development of the association, there should be “no victor and no vanquish.”
“All of you must as a matter of necessity work together to make the association truly the voice of the voiceless, the eyes of stakeholders in all ramifications.”
