The people of Mahin Ward 2 in Ilaje Local government area of Ondo State have decried the marginalisation of the area from occupying the chairmanship position in the council.
They claimed that they have not produced the chairman since
Ilaje Local government was created in 1996.
Investigation showed that nobody from Mahin Ward II has been appointed or elected to be chairman of Ilaje Local government from this particular ward.
Investigation further revealed that
out of the four wards in the local government, only Mahin Ward II has not produced that chairman.
It was gathered that others have occupied the position one or two terms since the creation in 1996.
” Mahin Ward I has produced four (4) chairmen of Ilaje local government, followed by Mahin Ward II without chairman, Mahin Ward III has produced two chairmen while Mahin Ward IV also produced two chairmen.
The political gladiators in these communities have appealed to the state Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa to come to their aid by considering them politically so that the next local government chairman in Ilaje local government would come from Mahin Ward II.
This, they said would ensure equity and justice for all in the council.
Recall that Mahin Ward II started from Orioke-Iwamimo to Ereke, all in the ward in the local government but none of them have ever produced the chairman of the local government .
