Olowa’s Visit Signifies Unity Among Traditional Rulers in Nigeria – Emir of Kano

The Emir of Kano, His Highness, Alhaji Dr. Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR, has applauded the leadership qualities of Olowa and Paramount Ruler of Igbara-Oke kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, OFR.

Alhaji Ado Bayero said this when the Olowa of Igbara-Oke paid a courtesy visit to the Kano Emirate Council at the Palace of the Emir of Kano.

According to him, the Emirate Council is delighted to have Oba Agbede, the August visitor in January.

He said the visit of Olowa of Igbara-Oke from the Southwest of Nigeria to the Northwest, signifies the unity, love and harmony among the traditional leaders in Nigeria.

He said he had at different occasions met with Oba Agbede, and have discussed together at events, but his coming to Kano will further strengthen the bond between Kano Emirate, Yoruba Community and Igbara-Oke kingdom.

Alhaji Ado Bayero also sought the continued cooperation of the Yoruba Community in Kano. He said the people have made significant impacts in the state, and have been responsive positively towards the State’s activities.

He commended Sar’kin Yorubawa, Oba Dr. Muritala Alimi Otisese for his commitment and dedication in steering the leadership position of the Yoruba people. He seeks for more support for the Sar’kin from the community, and also assured them of the continued support of the Emirate Council.

Earlier in his speech, the Olowa and Paramount Ruler of Igbara-Oke kingdom, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, OFR, appreciated the Emir for the first class reception accorded him since he arrived Kano. He said the stool of the Emir of Kano can be traced back to many centuries, and it is no surprise that the Emirate is waxing stronger at all times in facet of human endeavours.

Oba Agbede said his visit to the Emir’s Palace is to further strengthen their relationships and leverage on it towards creating better welfare for the people in their domains and promotion of the common traditional heritages.

He therefore called on the Yoruba Community to support the Emir and the Emirate Council continually.
